Luis G. Mendez is a senior executive and advisor with more than 25 years of experience leading infrastructure and energy businesses across North America, Latin America, and emerging markets.
He has held CEO, COO, and senior executive roles with responsibility for P&L, financial and operational performance, leading large-scale platforms and managing complex, multi-country operations. His experience includes corporate development, capital allocation, structured finance, and operational execution in capital-intensive industries.
Over the course of his career, he has led and executed more than $7 billion in strategic transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, and market exits, generating significant value for shareholders and private equity investors.
Since 2020, he has been actively advising owners, boards, and management teams on acquisitions, portfolio integration, asset optimization, and liquidity strategy across infrastructure platforms in the United States and Latin America. He has also acted as an expert in international arbitration matters, contributing to the preservation and recovery of substantial asset value.
Previously, he served as Senior Vice President and Head of Latin American Operations at Quanta Services, reporting directly to the CEO with responsibility for P&L and overall performance across seven countries (Chile, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Panama, Guatemala, and Ecuador) and a workforce of more than 3,600 employees. Prior to that, he was Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Ashmore Energy International, where he led complex M&A, restructurings, and multi-jurisdictional divestitures, generating 3x returns for shareholders. He also served on company boards, contributing to governance, strategic oversight, and value creation across multiple jurisdictions.
